These dense and chewy cookie bars are stuffed with chocolate chips and pecan pieces! They are the perfect alternative to regular cookies.


Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened at room temperature

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

2 eggs
-
2 tsp. vanilla

1/2 tsp. baking powder
-
1/2 tsp. baking soda
-
pinch of salt
-
2 tbsp. cornstarch

1/2 cup cake/pastry flour, sifted
-
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
-
1 cup chopped pecan pieces
-
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream together butter and sugars.

Mix in eggs and vanilla until fully combined.

Add the baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch, and combine.

Add flours one cup at a time, and mix until fully incorporated.

Fold in chocolate chips and pecan pieces.

Using a 8x8 or 9x9 pan, spray with cooking spray and add two pieces of parchment paper in alternating directions.

Press dough into the pan and bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are golden brown.

Remove from oven, and cool for at least 20 minutes before cutt.
